The Challenge
Partners for the Common Good (PCG), a nationally renowned non-profit certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, focuses on facilitating financial capital lending within low-income communities. One of PCG’s flagship offerings, CapNexus, serves as a web-based clearinghouse connecting capital seekers with socially-minded entrepreneurs, developers, capital providers, and public officials. To modernize and redesign this platform, PCG selected our team to lead a comprehensive redevelopment effort, including a total overhaul of its design and functionality.
Our Approach
We initiated the project with an intensive discovery phase, collaborating closely with PCG to refine ideas, establish priorities, and conduct user research. Based on these findings, we selected Drupal as the foundation for the new CapNexus platform, ensuring compatibility with current and future functionality upgrades. Innovative configuration strategies allowed us to enhance site capabilities while maintaining alignment with Drupal’s core architecture.

The Result
The revamped CapNexus platform delivered a fresh, mobile-responsive design with enhanced functionality. Post-launch, user engagement surged, with over 600 active users and 1,400 newsletter subscribers. Stakeholders praised the intuitive interface, and PCG highlighted significant improvements in automation, integration, and administrative efficiency. The project successfully elevated CapNexus as a vital resource for fostering community-driven financial collaboration.
